Grado, a delightful seaside resort in the Friulan lagoon: discover the charming old town with churches decorated with beautiful mosaics and the square with Roman remains, relax on the always sunny beaches, regenerate with the beneficial properties of its thermal waters. Aquileia, ancient capital of the Roman Empire. Under the emperor Augustus Aquileia became one of the strategic centers of the Empire. It was later the main center of the Romanic church to spread the Word of Christianity in north and east Europe. Aquileia is an UNESCO World Heritage Site due to the vastness of its archaeological area and the artistic value of its early Christian mosaics.
Shared transfer from the airport of Trieste and from the railway station of Udine to Grado (time to be defined). Check-in and dinner at the hotel.
After breakfast, free time to relax on the beach or practice watersports or rent a bike to make the Lagoon route (bike rental and sport activities not included, on request). Free lunch. Seafood dinner in a typical restaurant. Overnight.
After breakfast meeting with the tour guide for the visit of the historical city center of Grado. Seafood lunch in a typical restaurant. In the afternoon departure to Aquileia and guided tour of the Basilica and the archeological sites. At the end return to Udine. (the 2/7 overnight stay must be booked in the hotel chosen for the stay during the Congress).
